I am the proud mama to a hilarious, literal and logical 8-year-old, a curious, intra-personal and silly 7-year-old, an animated, energetic and sassy 5-year-old, and a brilliant, expressive and autonomous 26-month-old. We all love to sing and dance! Literature is a huge part of our daily routine as is play. I am a strong authoritative parent; I believe in discipline, but not punishment. I don't ever yell at my children (or anyone) because I do not like being yelled at. In our home, we operate in love and respect, as I am a huge advocate for nurturing social and emotional development and I believe in and implement daily Zone of Proximal Developmental practices. We are crazy, dorky and a little nerdy. Sometimes we eat dinner in costumes, paint with our feet and sometimes we eat green eggs and ham. We're not perfect but we love each other. I only get one chance to raise my children. There are no do-overs, no ctrl+alt+delete. This is it, so I try to be the best mom I can be; and I think I'm doing a pretty good job so far. =] I have over 8 years of experience with children with ADHD and Early Developmental Delays. I have 3 years of experience with children with Oppositional Defiant Disorder. I am interested primarily in care in my home - we are set up for it! And you are welcome to drop in anytime as our behavior and routine do not change when you leave.
