About the business
At Low Country Riding Academy we offer customized services that fit our clients needs. Our lesson program strives to give riders a strong foundation in riding for any discipline without pressuring to purchase or show horses. We believe in good overall horsemanship. Regardless of the specific equestrian sport you prefer, your feel, confidence, timing, and balance are key to success. This all helps improve riding ability while taking the horse into consideration. Riders work with their horse, both learning and improving together as a team. Many of our riders are just beginning their horsemanship journey. We specialize in creating a solid foundation of horsemanship skills while allowing each rider to find their passion in the sport.
As a boarding facility we aim to offer individualized care that exceeds our clients expectations. Our smaller facility allows us to create custom care plans working closely with owners to make their horse's health shine through.

Growing up in Colorado Bridget began riding at an early age with her grandfather and father. At age seven she rehabilitated her mare, Foxy, after a severe muscle atrophy in her left hindquarter. She primarily rode gaited horses in her youth, and has extensive knowledge of gaits and gaited horses.
Bridget was introduced to therapeutic riding as a volunteer at Connections Therapeutic Riding Center. She quickly learned to appreciate the independence horseback riding gives special needs individuals. After moving to Savannah for college she continued to volunteer at both Faith Equestrian Therapeutic Riding Center and Heroes on Horseback. Her volunteer experience included traveling with the center to Special Olympics Georgia, where she served as a groom for competing riders. During her time at the Savannah College of Art and Design Bridget participated on the ISHA team and showed on the hunter circuit. During a summer break she purchased Cherry, shipped him to Georgia, and started him under saddle. After showing him locally she leased him out as a lesson horse. Bridget also worked as a riding instructor at Lawton Stables while attending SCAD, teaching hunter lessons and managing a large summer camp program. She received her PATH certification in 2011 and worked as an instructor at Wish Upon a Horse Therapeutic Riding Center in its first year.
She returned to Colorado to complete her Bachelor's degree in sociology at the University of Northern Colorado and served as the program director for Connections Therapeutic Riding Center, specializing in autism spectrum and sensory disorders. In Colorado she purchased and expanded Colorado Riding Academy. Colorado Riding Academy focused on beginner riding lessons for children and adults. There she managed the care of school horses and boarded horses, including several senior horses. During that time she also working independently starting horses under saddle and rode regularly with a British Horse Society eventing instructor. When she moved back to the low country in 2014 she was thrilled to have the opportunity to begin teaching in the area again. She enjoys helping riders reach their goals and improve their skills.
