Lou's House is a senior personal care home and assisted living facility in NW Austin that has a few very distinct features.
Unlike most personal care homes, we have an unusually high level of staff to accommodate more complicated health or memory care issues. The director is a full-time, military trained, licensed nurse who monitors residents personally and can provide clinical care as well as oversee medication administration. All staff are required to be highly experienced certified nurse aids or licensed medication aids. We do not employ unlicensed attendants to care for your loved one.
Lou's House is a 7 bed home environment equipped with beautiful furnishings. Residents here feel like this is their own home with all the comforts thereof. Because of our size, there is a high degree of one-on-one care with personalized care plans.
The food is outstanding, home cooked meals.
Our business model is simple: Do unto others as you would have them do to you. We treat our residents, our staff and our resident s family members with the greatest amount of love and dignity. It is our highest aim that our residents feel loved and well taken care of.
We are an age-in-place facility. As a resident declines in health or cognitive ability, it is not necessary for residents to transfer to another facility due to limitations of staffing capability. Here, residents can live out their days, even through the hospice period, without concern of having to pay an increased rate as limitations increase or move once they become bed-bound. Our nurse director has had many years of experience as a hospice nurse, we do palliative care and end of life care very well.
