Welcome to Little Steps in-home Daycare Little Steps in-home Daycare opened its doors in August of 2014. About Me: I am a proud mother of three children. I have two daughters and a son. My children are seven, five, and four. I am CPR/AED certified for infant, child, and adult. First Aid certified and blood borne pathogen certified. Also have SBS and SIDS certifications. I am a certified assistant childcare teacher through the State of WI. I have many volunteer hours though UW Whitewater for School of Education. Over 500 hours of work in preschool and elementary schools. I have also been a preschool Sunday School teacher and helped run the nursery at church for over three years. I have previously been licensed as a Restaurant Manager Licensee through State of Wisconsin. Because of this food safety and sanitation is very important to me. Before I became a stay at home mother and business owner I had different management jobs. I have been a Retail Store Leader for Kwik Trip and worked there for seven and a half years. Assistant Store Manager at Walgreens and worked there for over three years. I am more than happy to provide any information for background checks. About Daycare: -Smoke free home with cats. Fully insured daycare, house, and vehicle that is used for daycare. Fully fenced in backyard for outdoor play. -Play based learning environment. Children learn through hand on activities which include but not limited to: learning colors, numbers, counting, shapes, and letters. They learn these through general play and activities. Tons of outdoor play/activities when weather is nice out. Also, have a fully enclosed porch for activities daily and when weather is rainy. Use this area three seasons of the year. Large playroom inside for main daycare room. Several stations set up throughout the room: sensory area, word/sentence building area, puzzles, art, music, imaginative play, reading nook under stairs, and many more. Nap and relaxation time daily. Cots for older kids and pack n plays for younger. Everything is washed and sanitized daily/weekly. There is a separate room for infants to use for floor play, naps. Infants are brought into main room to interact with older kids most of the day. -What goes on around daycare? Daily activities include, but not limited to: sensory play including: play dough, puzzles, story time, quiet time, music/dance time, preschool time, indoor and outdoor play, and art time. We do not have a fully set schedule.
