Little Learners Homestead provides quality child care services to children ages 3 to 6 years old in a farm setting in Hampden, ME. Our holistic approach to child development encompasses social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development. A monthly theme that celebrates seasonality weaves food and farming lessons into art, music, story time, play, and cooking.

Our teachers facilitate imaginative play as well as provide space for unstructured peer-to-peer creativity. Children are encouraged to explore and push their boundaries in a safe and supportive environment.

Hands-on and developmentally appropriate gardening and cooking activities expose children to the joy and satisfaction of raising vegetables and animals for food. Children have the opportunity to care for farm animals; learning empathy, respect, and responsibility. Little Learners Homestead serves two healthy, locally grown meals and one snack that guide the rhythm of the day. Families also have access to fresh farm products such as chicken and duck eggs, goat milk, produce, as well as special items made by the children including butter, soap, herbal tea and more.
