About

Background:
I've been fortunate to be an educator in multiple capacities over the past 11 years as a classroom teacher for preschool, second and fifth grades, as well as an ABA therapist. My most recent experience as an Early Interventionist has benefited me as an educator in making the connections between the multiple environments in which a child learns. I find great joy in the early years of a child's growth and educational experience. I would love to provide a safe, nurturing, loving environment where your young child can grow in so many ways. You are your child's best and most important educator. We can celebrate the little leaps your child makes together, as a team. As a parent, you can take comfort in knowing your child will be prepared with the essential skills and learning tools for Kindergarten.

Philosophy:
I believe in utilizing materials around the child's natural environment to stimulate and facilitate learning. Participating in floor time is a powerful tool for adults to follow a child's lead, as well as imitate and model language opportunities. I want to model/foster creativity and curiosity in various subject matters to motivate students to learn. By assessing where my students are and what their specific learning outcomes may be, my role is to build on what they already know and what will spark new understandings they are ready to develop. Encouraging students to make connections to the outside world makes learning much more meaningful. Social interaction and play opportunities are essential to a learning environment. I plan activities that encourage learning/stretching/growing. As a teacher, I enjoy designing stimulating activities that accommodate multiple intelligences and emphasize a sensory approach to learning. I believe early childhood education should be navigated through touch and real world experiences. This keeps children interested, focused, and excited!
