Little Hands Garden School

Since 2009, Little Hands Garden School has been nurturing young minds through an outdoor-focused, play-based curriculum. We welcome preschool students ages 24 months to 5 years into small classes with a low teacher-student ratio, ensuring personalized attention and a supportive learning environment. Our curriculum emphasizes nature-based experiences, including gardening, animal care, early literacy and numeracy, as well as seasonal arts and music. Students also enjoy delicious, vegetarian snacks made from fruits and vegetables they help grow, harvest, and prepare at the school. Featured in Willamette Week's 2011 Finder Magazine as one of 'the best kept secrets in the Mt. Tabor neighborhood,' Little Hands Garden School remains a beloved part of the community.

We have two locations in SE Portland: Both schools are housed in classic Portland homes with spacious yards, offering plenty of room for outdoor play and exploration. At South Tabor, children also learn animal care with the help of two house rabbits, one cat, one puppy, and three chickens. Our curriculum is further enriched with Wondergarten Waldorf activities, baking, and nature-inspired crafts.
