Hello and welcome! My name is Iris and I'm the proud owner of Little Green Apple, a licensed and regulated home child care. I am college educated, and also fluent in several foreign languages: Hebrew, Russian, French and German. I have 3 kids of my own, ages 18, 15 and 12, and have worked with kids for many years in early education settings. I love what I do, and I'm sure you would love my dedicated work, too!
My program is NOT just another dark, dingy basement; instead, you would love my light, bright, spacious and clean space on the main level of my home, with French doors leading into a huge, fenced-in backyard!
I serve 2 hot meals and 3 snacks and No, I don't think cheese curls and SunnyD qualify as snacks! I take nutrition very seriously, hence I use quality, fresh ingredients and prepare the meals daily myself. My program offers low-glycemic-load meal entries with a good variety of fruit and veggie servings in every meal or snack, even at breakfast!
I believe in letting kids explore the world in a supportive, fun environment with activities such as: daily indoor and outdoor play, arts and crafts projects, school preparedness through learning the Alphabet and math concepts, acquiring critical thinking and reading comprehension skills through interactive story time, and exploring nature around us through nature walks. My ultimate goal is to help nurture your child's mind and develop good social skills through playing, sharing and communicating.
I have weekly and seasonal lesson plan themes, such as the Holidays, Seasons, Weather related events, Show and Tell, All About Me, Frequent Flyer, and other fun and educational themes. I also encourage and implement good personal hygiene skills and manners.
