My name is LaShaun Johnson. I am currently a preschool teacher with 10 years experience teaching in a preschool setting. I will be opening my own small family daycare in August 2019.
I am committed to creating a warm home environment for your child where he or she will learn and grow, physically, emotionally, creatively, intellectually, and socially at their own pace. My goal is to not only provide a safe and nurturing environment, but one where your child will thrive and the goals that you have for your child can be achieved. I strongly encourage the development of self-help skills and believe that a child's self esteem is uplifted by this independence.
I believe in a play based curriculum. Each month we will have themes that will help guide the activities throughout the year. In my experience children best learn through playing. Our days will be spent learning through dramatic play, coloring, painting, singing, dancing and various other activities.
I also believe that children benefit from having a structured environment so we will follow a daily routine throughout the day
