Litte Seedlings Community Playschool

Located in Wilsonville near Lowrie Primary and Boones Ferry Primary. A beautiful school with a large fenced yard, climbing equipment, organic garden, and an educated, loving, and attentive caregiver/teacher who practices RIE principles.

This is a play-based, in-home, state registered daycare and preschool offering hands-on, nature-based learning in a small group setting with a commitment to outdoor learning and play. Our days are influenced by several learning philosophies including Montessori, Waldorf, RIE, and Reggio Emilia. Serving organically grown meals and snacks.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from the University of Tennessee as well as several courses in early childhood education through PCC and Childcare Resource and Referral. I have also volunteered at the Science Playground at OMSI and with Big Brothers Big Sisters. I have always been passionate about children and learning.

I am trained in child/infant CPR and pediatric First Aid. I have a food handlers certificate from the Department of Human Services and my husband and I are both enrolled in the Central Background Registry.

There is both an indoor and outdoor classroom giving the children the freedom to explore and learn naturally. It is an emergent curriculum. The children determine the lesson plans and the teacher is there to facilitate the learning opportunities and gently guide the children as they explore.

In the outdoor classroom there is large motor exploration, dramatic play, investigating plants and living creatures, building, tinkering, and creating art. The outdoor space includes a garden and play structures as well as a tent. Indoor play activities typically include art projects, sensory play, blocks, dramatic play, circle time with stories, finger plays, musical instruments, and games.
