I arrived at this animal hospital with a dog that had been hit by a car. It was not my dog and I had picked it up with the intention of bringing it to this facility and the dog receiving proper medical care. Upon entering I was informed that they would not take the dog and the dog died in my lap while I sat on their parking lot. In my opinion, if you are veterinary clinic, it is in your job description to help animals. I understand that care costs money and this dog had no owner to provide for it, but outright refusing to have anything to do with the animal is wrong. After the dog passed, my boyfriend went back inside to have their staff suggest what we do with the dog and the dog that accompanied the injured one. They then took the dead dog from my arms, leashed the one that was uninjured and were very calloused about the entire situation. The desk woman who came to retrieve the dog from me even had the audacity to make a face when I presented her the dog that had passed on her watch. I am truly angry at this facility and this is the second time they have let me down. The first was when I took my own animal in. He had several hernias and instead of diagnosing him as such, they sad he was fine and just needed a change in food. We bought new food, and because there was no change in his sickly behavior, we took him to another vet to get a second opinion. As I stated, he was not alright and had had several spots herniated in his intestines for quite some time. We had to put my dog down, when I could have known two weeks in advance that his condition was declining.
