After working in daycare and preschool settings for the last ten years, I have experienced working with many of the different philosophies related to teaching Early Childhood Education. I received my degree from University of Oregon in Psychology with an emphasis on Early Childhood education. I enjoyed researching the developmental stages of children. I found it especially interesting to compare how the different philosophies used for Early Childhood Education, did or did not seem to relate to children's development. With my experience, I did not feel that just one philosophy was necessarily the best. Every child is different, and so it makes sense to think that different teaching styles need to apply to accommodate to different children. Now that I am creating my dream of starting my own school, I decided to combine my personal experience working with the different philosophies, as well as my education and training on the development of children, to create my own curriculum.
