Lil Miss & Mister

I am a stay at home mom to two children - a four year old boy and a two year old girl - looking for additional children to care for. I have been watching two little girls for the last three years but they are ready to move on to school so it is time to fill their spots! We are located in Old Worthington in a home that we own. It is smoke free and cat free but dog friendly. Hours are flexible but I would like to stay in the 6 AM to 6 PM time range. Times earlier and later can be considered as well.

We start our day eating breakfast. Some days it is cereal, others we make something together (waffles, pancakes, eggs). I usually go with what a majority of the children ask for. After breakfast we begin play time. During the hot summer I like to get outside early! I have a sandbox, water table, inflatable pool, bubbles, chalk, lawn mowers, tricycle/small bike with training wheels. After playing outside and releasing some toddler energy we go inside for more guided play. I enjoy sitting with the kids while learning to write their letters, reading books, building houses with blocks, coloring and so on. Next comes lunch! I also go by what most kids ask for at lunch time. Some days it is mac and cheese, others it is grilled cheese, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, peanut butter, turkey sandwiches. I include fruit with every lunch and another side (usually veggie straws or goldfish). I always try to feed the children healthy options that they are still interested in (we tend to skip potato chips and lots of juice). After lunch is naps for the little ones and break time for the big kids. I usually will put on a movie and have everyone relax and take a break to refuel. Once that is over we have snacks (crackers, cheese, fruit, some days we have popsicles or ice cream, others we make something together (pudding, muffins). We will then continue to play until pick up. Depending on the weather we may head outside again. We also have a park across the street. Some days we may paint or create a special craft. I really try to allow the children to grow and learn at their own pace while encouraging playing nicely with others & a love for learning.

Bringing your own food is always an option. I am more than happy to feed children food that they like from home. I know mom's peanut butter and jelly may taste better than mine! I do ask that all children come with their own cups. One glass of milk & one glass of juice are provided each day. After that is gone I provide filtered water.
