My name is Jessica Wood, and I am opening my in home childcare on June 30th, 2014. I am a mom to a 6 yr old boy, and a 3 year old girl and I love being a mom. I have always had a love for children and I enjoy caring for them. I am currently working for the Chandler Unified School District in their Kids Express, before and after school/camp program. I have really enjoyed working there and have learned many useful skills in caring for children. I have professional experience caring for children from ages 4-12 in this program, and I know how to care for littler ones through my own experiences as a mom. I am really excited and looking forward to working from home and working with a smaller group of children in a more family style setting.
I have been background checked, and hold a current level one fingerprint card.
I have the ability to transport kids to and from Ellsworth Elementary if needed. I will have a flexible daily routine with story times, nap/quite times, outside play time (when not too hot), learning time, craft time, cartoon time. I will have on Friday a movie/gaming day, and I would like to take them on a field trip once in a while to places such as the library, zoo, splash pads, near by parks, ect. I have gained a lot experience with taking kids on field trips through the Kids Express Camp program, and I know how to keep track of even the ones that like to wander. On Fridays (or their last day of the week) I will have a treasure box they can pick a special surprise from if they were good all week. I will follow a green, yellow, red light disciplining system, with rules posted with pictures for little ones that can't read yet.
I will be moving into the Pecan Creek neighborhood the weekend of the 20th of June. I can do in home interviews beginning at that time. Until then I am happy to speak with you over the phone, through text messaging or via email or the 'Lil Ladybugs Facebook page.
