The Life Center is licensed by the Oklahoma Department of Health. It is non-profit and directed by a board of local citizens. Offered in a protective group setting, the Life Center helps mentally or physically impaired adults to maintain or improve their level of functioning in order to remain in the community and provides respite for caregivers.
Based on individual needs and interests, services may include speech therapy, adapted activities,, re-motivation and memory therapy, exercise, noon meal and snacks, special diets, medication administration, health monitoring and education , assistance with personal care, social services and supervision.
Recreation programs are available daily which encourage adults with health issues to get out of the house and socialize, participate in regular physical activity, and exercise their mind. All the activities offered are designed to stimulate and engage each person based on their individual interests and are adapted so each person has a challenging but successful experience.
The health and well-being of the caregiver is important at the Life Center. When your family member is at the Center, you can take a break from the caregiving role and focus on yourself. You can accomplish your goals during the day, knowing your loved one is active, engaged in life, and safely supervised by medical professionals.
