About
Who are we?
We are a group of passionate educators from Redmond Proficiency Academy that also happen to be parents. We've experienced first hand the difficulty of childcare in Central Oregon that has only been exacerbated by COVID-19. We wanted something different for our kids.
Why are we starting this?
There are two major reasons to do this. First, Central Oregon has been in a severe childcare drought for years. As of this summer, due to COVID-19, half of all childcare centers in Oregon closed. Central Oregon families are in dire need with families returning to work and students returning to school. Secondly, in-school childcare offers hands on experience to our already robust CTE childhood development program. Students complete their First Aid, CPR and Food Handlers certification and will move on to work directly with children. This offers credits to our students at RPA and more 1 on 1 time for the little ones at Learn & Play.
