Hello! My name is Laura. I own and operate a home care program unlike any other. Truth be told, running a child care program was never on my radar. I was happily employed in the health care industry, and even after having a child, I fully intended to return to work, and did so for several months. The fuel behind developing my own program resulted from sheer frustration and disappointment with the child care programs we found. We hated the large groups, the rigid schedules, and the ridiculous cost! So, I quit my job and proceeded to spend the next 18 months developing a program that had the aspects I wish I'd had when I was looking for care. I also eliminated from it the things we hated so much in those same programs. So, let me tell you a little bit about why I'm different.

The first is size. I intentionally keep it small and have a maximum enrollment of 4 children. I want it to feel like a family here, not a child care center.

The next is flexibility. I allow you to take your kids out of care without requiring that you pay for the days they're not here! I absolutely hated paying for services I wasn't receiving, so that doesn't happen here. The same goes for sick kiddos. If they're home sick, you don't pay.

Another difference is curriculum. While I do provide a ton of activities to make sure your kids are engaged during the day, I do not make them follow a rigid schedule. We do not rotate from station to station all day. Yes, I have a fully stocked playroom, but we absolutely do not stay in it all day. This is a home and it operates like one. The only "set" time periods of the day are meal times, and what I like to call "quiet" time. Not all kids nap, but all kids do need time to rest and recharge, so I allow them about an hour and a half of time to relax. If they do fall asleep and need more time, I will never require that they wake up, unless you specifically request that they sleep only a preset amount of time.

I'm open Monday-Friday; 6 a.m until 6 p.m. I have been known to accommodate other hours, though, so don't hesitate to contact me even if your schedule doesn't quite fit into that mold. The rate for care is $125 per week, no matter the age of your child. If you happen to have two children enrolled, I offer a sibling discount!
