Shawna is an outstanding professional in her field and I recommend her services without hesitation. Shawna teaches at my homeschool co-op in Carbondale IL (Littlebluestem.org) on a weekly basis and I never cease to be amazed by the depth of her expertise on how language works. She has helped my students understand how spelling makes sense when you look at the history and meaning of words, and it has been a profound linguistic journey for them. In my setting she works with students from ages 6 to 14, and is easily able to adapt her instruction to meet the needs of each child. I've had the pleasure of watching Shawna teach since 2016, yet I learn something new from her in every lesson. Shawna is lively and warm and cares deeply about her students. She clearly loves her work; as the group works together to explore the English language, her joy is palpable.
