In-Home Daycare

Kristi Kichline

About

I am looking for full time weekday childcare in my home for your child/children. For full time care, I would charge a reasonable weekly rate (not an hourly rate). My rate is $125 for 1 child. Additional children would be negotiated. I am NOT a daycare so I will only accept a small number of children (<5) at a time. It is ideal if you'd like to stay away from the large daycare environment. We have many fun activities inside our home and in our large back yard which is far from the road.
I started working with kids when I was 14. When I was 24, I was a full-time nanny for a 1 and 3-year-old, plus my 1-year-old. I was in-charge of crafts, creative play, food prep, and transporting to and from school. I did doctor's appointments, homework help and some field trips. I stayed overnights. I was basically an additional parent. I worked for them for about 3 years until I moved out of MD to PA. I have since babysat for two other families, ages 1 - 7 and a 10-year-old. I'm 41 and I have about 25 years of experience with children. I have a BA in Psychology and I have 4 kids. I have letters of recommendation from when I was a full-time nanny for 2 lawyers and from another lawyer from whom I was a part-time babysitter. My husband and I did foster care for 7 years which was fulfilling yet extremely taxing emotionally. Last year, I babysat a 10-year-old boy after school, every night. We did homework, dinner and then fun activities. I'd have to say that my special gift with children is being able to find the right activity for him/her to enjoy and I personally enjoy doing these activities with kids. Whether it's reading, board games, crafts, imaginative play, etc., I like to keep them busy and I like for them to have a fun time. I look forward to meeting with you and your family. Thanks for considering me!
