Kim's Childcare

My name is Kim and I have been a Nanny for the past 8 years. I have also taught at childcare centers and worked with the special education system in the Lane County schools. I have my associates in Child and Family Studies and am enrolled in OSU's distance learning program online part time working on my Bachelors in Human Development and Family Sciences with a minor in Psychology. I am very reliable and have many references.

I already have 2 children in my care from 7:30 am to 6 pm M-F. They are a 20 month old little boy and 2.5 year old little girl. On no school days and breaks I have my 5 year old future step-son who is pictured below. We are looking for 1 more child to add to our group. We do lots of extra activities like OMSI, the Zoo, the Childrens Museum, Gilbert House and many local parks. I live with in walking distance of Snyder Park. I have a reliable newer Mini-Van and provide these activities at no extra cost to the families I work with.

I also have lots of craft supplies, musical instruments, games, puzzles, blocks, and other toys put away that I get out throughout the week. I limit timeouts and other forms of punishment and focus on how their actions effect others. We talk about using our words and I try to allow the children to be independent whenever they can. I set clear expectations and help children develop the tools to successfully meet them.
