"KidsSpace: Where the Golden Rule Rules!" KidsSpace is a new part-time, flexible childcare option for children ages 3 and up, located in a refurbished storefront in downtown Whitehouse,OH. Operated by a local mom and experienced 'kid person', KidsSpace will serve no more than six children at a time, and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. We will open in Fall/Winter 2014.
We will offer drop-in and pre-scheduled care, so depending on your schedule your child may participate in: preschool lessons, supervised group play ('us' time), music and art sessions, story time, Bible time, snacks, individual play ('me' time), and most of all learning how to be a good friend. We will aim for the Golden Rule* in all we do, and will support families in doing the same. (*Treat others like you would want to be treated.) Homework help will also be available for older children and homeschoolers.
Our facility has private parking and a private outdoor play area, and easy access to Whitehouse Park and the Bike Trail. Indoors, we will have play centers and a 'quiet' area, a private restroom, and a small kitchenette. Nearby you will find unique restaurants and shops, Julie's Fitness Studio, Oak Openings Metropark, The Butterfly House, and Kroger! Choose your destination for the morning, and let your child come play with us while you do your thing!
KidsSpace is the dream of owner Ms. Lisa Morrison, who has over 14 years of experience working and volunteering in schools, preschools, and children's ministries, as well as several years managing a small non-profit children's choir.
Lisa graduated from Whitmer High School in 1984, and has resided in the AW district since 1999. She holds an AA degree from BGSU (graduated in 2010, with honors) and has a dedication to helping children learn to get along with, and even appreciate, one another. She is the mom of three amazing children, ages 10-16, whom you may see as her assistants on occasion. Family dog "Daisy" may make visits as well, so please be sure to inform us of any allergies or concerns re: animals.
KidsSpace is not currently licensed, but operates within the guidelines of the State of Ohio child care laws as a family child care provider. KidsSpace is a private-pay only facility at this time. KidsSpace will be open from 9 am- 12noon, M-F. Rates begin at $10/hr; reservations will be accepted with prepayment. Contact "Miss Lisa" to get on the waiting list!
