Kids In The House Child Care

My name is Candy Grein. I am the proud owner of Kids In The House Child Care in Beverly. MA. My Child care program is licensed by the state of Massachusetts.
I have 9 years of experience as a preschool teacher and 8 years of experience as a Preschool Director. I have taught expressive art and craft classes to children ages 4 - 12 years of age. I am certified and trained by the Red Cross in CPR and first aid. I have taken several basic sign language courses and incorporate simple signs into your child's daily learning.



MY HOME:

My home is located in Beverly at the end of a quiet street and is a little over 5 years old. The lower level has been completely remodeled specifically for child care. The space is bright, cheerful and welcoming. Parents and children have a separate entrance into the childcare. While the childcare is located in my home it is separate from the hustle and bustle that goes on during the day in my home. I do have a dog (Lenny) and several cats, while they are all very friendly they are not allowed into the childcare space. My home is air conditioned in the summer months.



MY PHILOSOPHY:

It is my belief that a loving home child care can offer each child a chance to learn and develop physically, emotionally and intellectually. In order for children to grow and blossom in these areas they must be provided an educationally stimulating, nurturing and safe environment where they can become aware of the world around them through hands on activities and play. Play is your child's practice. I have areas for music, science, art, dramatic play,discovery and building. There's a Book Nook with board books, beginner reading books and picture books. Introducing children to social concepts such as respect, pride, self esteem, and a love of learning is to me equally as important as introducing number/math skills, letter awareness and science concepts.

At Kids In The House I value the process of art not product. Children are encouraged to do art for the exploration, the experience and the experimentation. In the "process" of doing art, children discover creativity, mystery, joy, and frustration, which are all important pieces in the puzzle of learning
