Caring for and teaching little ones about the world around them is my passion! My name is Kelsie and I have had a love for children since I was just a child myself! I am of a mother of a two year-old little girl who will be opening my home as of October 6, to care for up to 4 children.
I have a strong understanding of child development and experience with children with special needs. I am CPR certified and have a current fingerprint clearance card.
My childcare experience begins over ten years ago as a babysitter all through high school. While in college, I worked as an aid in a developmental preschool for 2,3, & 4 year olds with Speech-Language Delays. I also worked in a local elementary school as a tutor. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech-Hearing Sciences with a minor in Special Education. For the past 4 years I have worked as an early childhood educator for Arizona's Early Intervention Program with babies and toddlers between 0-3 with developmental delays or disabilities in a home-visiting setting.
A daily schedule will be followed incorporating activities across all 5 areas of child development (thinking and play skills, motor development, social emotional skills, daily living skills, and language development). Activities will include arts and crafts, music and movement, reading, outdoor play, sensory play, and circle time. We will learn about colors, shapes, numbers, letters and much more!
Two snacks and two healthy meals will be provided each day. Available Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
