Hello Parents! I am a registered respiratory therapist that has worked the last 3 years at Children's Hospital of WI. I would like to continue to serve children and families by offering:
-small group size with the same consistent kids
-researched-based Mother Goose Time curriculum
-daily parent communications using an app
-loving family atmosphere!

My hours of operation are Monday- Friday from 7:30AM to 5:30PM.

I'm Katie, a Mom of two wonderful kids ages 2 and 6. For over 3 years, I've been working as a Respiratory Therapist at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. It is through my experiences at Children's that I am inspired to open a childcare providing a safe, healthy environment for kids. During this time, I've been bringing my children to different day cares trying to find a place that takes care of them as I would. I saw the negative effect of the constant flux of the commercial daycare situation including changing rooms, teachers, and siblings not being together in the same classroom. I decided I'd like to open a daycare that fosters a family-like atmosphere. I have a care center that provides what I've been searching for; daily parent communications about activities each day, pictures to allow you to see your child throughout the day, a full curriculum, and the same caretaker with no switching classrooms. I have completed the following courses : Fundamentals of Infant and Toddler Care, Fundamentals of Family Child Care, and Introduction to the Child Care Profession.

My Philosophy:
Children grow to their full potential when surrounded by a loving, nurturing environment where they are comfortable being themselves. This is the foundation of the care and activities provided at Katie's Rainbow Kids. My goal is to welcome your child to a family-like atmosphere providing warm and understanding care with the same consistent caregiver and small group of children. I will have weekly lesson plans utilizing Mother Goose Time curriculum embracing the idea that children learn best through play and fun, structured learning activities. This curriculum follows the National Association for the Education of Young Children's guidelines for appropriate curriculum content and the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards.
