Ours is a childcare home dedicated to healthy, happy and well-adjusted children. I have two joyful, kind and gentle children of my own, ages 3 and 5. My master's degree is in early childhood education and I have been working with - and learning from - young children for over 15 years; when I was younger, I worked as as a babysitter, swim coach and Montessori preschool teacher's assistant. During my years in college, I volunteered for a number of children's organizations and ran a private tutoring business. After completing my degree, I worked as an elementary classroom teacher for several years. Most recently, I have been at home caring for my own two children.

I believe that each child is born a unique person with individual strengths, needs, gifts and abilities. My goal is to provide a loving, encouraging, fun and safe environment, and my hope is that all the children in my home are happy, feel loved and valued, and have a sense of importance and belonging.

Activities in our schedule include sensory play, arts and crafts projects, reading, music and games, outdoor play and more. We have a structured, but flexible schedule. We will go on outings a few times a week (the zoo, museum, library, walks to the park, etc.)

I want to form a working partnership with parents by listening to your child rearing philosophies and goals. Please communicate these and any additional needs your child may have during the interview so that we can be sure there will be no misunderstandings in the care you expect for your child.

I am just starting my in home childcare and right now am looking to care for just one infant or young toddler (under 2). Please let me know if you have additional questions, would like references, or would like to set up an interview.

Some of my early childhood care-giving philosophies:
-All children need a loving, nurturing environment to thrive
-All children need the space and opportunity to explore their world
-Developing children sometimes need help learning to express their emotions
-Very young children respond best to redirection and positive discipline
-Children need help learning limits and self control in a way that is kind, firm and loving and respects their integrity as a tiny person


Some features of our home:
* Separate playroom/nursery
* Enclosed backyard with a play set, garden and large sandbox and lots of grassy area to play We do not have any pets.
* No TV for children under 3
* I use only natural cleaning products.
