With a passion for children backed with an Early Childhood Education degree and Montessori experience, I strive to provide a small home based atmosphere with the advantages of a preschool. I believe that children should be both loved and respected in order to develop and thrive in the environment which they are in.
I have created a well-stocked room in which children are free to explore and choose from a wide array of activities which I prepare in advance based on their developmental level (age) and individual interests. These range from basic puzzles to language cards to arts and crafts. So while they are playing with things that they are interested in and enjoy, they are also being exposed to new language opportunities, letters, colors, fine motor skills, and so much more!
I also see great opportunity in allowing children to learn by doing. I have chosen to also incorporate many practical life activities for children to choose from such as setting a table, washing windows, sweeping the floor, etc. I use all child sized (and child safe) materials that gives them the feeling that this is their space and they have the freedom to explore and discover as they wish. All while refining fine motor skills and learning practical skills!
Each week we will also prepare a healthy meal together and eat it together. This is a fun experience for both them and me! They always enjoy eating what they have helped to prepare.
I intend on keeping a very limited number of children (only 2) in order to provide the best opportunities for learning. Please contact me with any questions or to arrange a home visit!
