Hello, from East Multnomah County! I'm a young grandma that is retired and looking for a few little people to share my time with. I am looking for a family or two who needs part-time day care services. My days and times are somewhat flexible. We have a house with a large fenced backyard. We do have a very friendly dog, Maggie, she's an Australian Shepherd mix. I am a social worker by training and have worked in a number of positions involving children, advocacy, mentoring, addictions, and abuse. I've worked as a Montessori day care teacher, have run my own day care in the 1990's (when my own child was young), and now I am a proud grandma (or meemaw, as I'm called) to a beautiful granddaughter, who will be two in December. I get to play with her a couple times a week, so I'm hoping to keep my day care kid numbers low enough that I can still get out and about in the car. I love arts and crafts, nature and learning and these are the things I do with my grand-baby. This is a new endeavor for me, so I am a new business; however, I am not new to child care. I don't have too many age restrictions and my schedule is pretty flexible, so I'm able to work with your schedule to a certain extent. I am not currently licensed (I was in the 90's, but I'm sure that's expired by now), but that is on my agenda in the very near future.
