Kangaroo Family Daycare

Kangaroo Family Daycare strives to promote a healthy mind, body, and spirit through creating an engaging environment where each child feels safe to learn by exploring the world around them. In addition to providing regular daycare for children ages 4 months and up, we also provide drop-in, before & after-school care (based on availability).

PROVIDER BACKGROUND
Katie Kang, locally born and raised, completed her Bachelor's Degree in Education and teaching credential from California State University, Long Beach and has completed early childhood units from El Camino College and LA Harbor College. Katie has been working with children since she was 15 years old. She spent her summers in high school working as a camp counselor at a local summer camp, eventually becoming the camp's director for over five years. During this time, she also worked for a local preschool as a teacher and assistant Preschool Director. Her experience ranges from singing silly songs to curriculum development, licensing compliance to disaster preparedness. It has always been her dream to work with children and own business.
Katie is the mother of two. She has a passion for working with young children and creating learning environment that spark their imagination and cognitive development. She is not afraid of getting dirty if it means that a child is learning and having fun.
With the birth of her second child, Katie made a difficult decision to leave a job she loved, in order to pursue her passion and to spend more time with her own children. Any parent could relate, and that is why she strives to create a Home Daycare environment that parents feel confident and comfortable that their children are well taken care of and will thrive while they are working.
