Job duties involve assisting residents with activities of daily living, as well as ensuring the well-being and specified care for each resident per established care plan. Caregivers also maintain a clean/tidy environment and provide meals and snacks to the residents.

Qualifications:
High school diploma (or equivalent)
Certified Nursing Assistant license or HCA Certificate
Nurse Delegation Core Training
Nurse Delegation Special Focus on Diabetes
CPR and First Aid
HIV/AIDS Education Training
Must be willing to obtain Tuberculosis (TB) skin test within three (3) days of hire
Dementia Specialty Training
Mental Health Specialty Training
Developmental Disabilities Specialty Training
Food Handlers Card
Washington State Patrol background check and fingerprint

Preferred: six months experience in a licensed AFH, or Skilled Nursing Facility
Ability to read, write, and speak English in order to follow simple oral or written instructions and complete standard forms
Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information and maintain courteous relationships with residents, their families, physicians/nurses, etc.
Participation in continuing education relative to role.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Follow the negotiated care plan for each resident
Groom, oral hygiene, bathe and incontinent care for residents
Assist with all activities of daily living
Keep bedroom and common areas neat, clean and hazard free
Assist with general cleaning (housecleaning, bathrooms, kitchen, etc.)
Resident laundry
Prepare meals and assist residents with feeding
Give all medications as directed by doctor's orders
Contact pharmacy to refill medications
Chart information regarding residents' care and communicate resident care information to co-workers and resident manager
Report all unusual circumstances that may involve the safety and well-being of the residents or co-workers directly to the resident manager
Participate in safety drills
Answer phones and direct visitors

Working Conditions:
Flexible staffing hours based on client care needs
May include working swing or night shifts, weekends and holidays
Occasionally exposed to communicable diseases, unpleasant sights and odors.
