A graduate of the Karen Pryor Puppy Start right Preschool, I have the knowledge that can help you and you family enjoy puppy-hood. Early puppy hood (7-12 weeks) is a critical time for socialization and learning. It is not about simple exposure but making exposure fun and positive with treats and knowing how to read your puppy. The ultimate goal is for your puppy to have positive learning experiences with a variety of stimuli. Experiences during this time set the stage for the rest of your puppy's life. The puppy should have 2-3 novel experiences a day during the 7-12 weeks. I will journal and chart progress daily so you the owner is aware of all experiences. What you will get at the end of the socialization period is a confident puppy ready to build on.
We become familiar with each dog's personality and habits in order to maintain comfort, control and safety in any situation. I understand some dogs are overweight or some dogs have lots of energy and need that daily walk so when you arrive home after your busy day, you are not greeted by a dog that has been in a kennel or house all day. I can help make your family's evenings a bit less hectic!
