Our mission at Just Like Home Family Child Care is to provide
a loving, nurturing, safe and age-appropriate learning environment
for children so they can discover the wonders of the world
around them.
When you visit Just Like Home, you will feel like you are in a very special day care environment, because that's what it is. The experts say, and we know from experience, thatchildren learn best through play and discovery. At Just Like Home, they play in groups where they learn from their peers. Even infants benefit from interactions in mixed age settings, and we make sure they get personal quiet time for napping or just being held. Siblings spend their days together.
For toddlers and up, our staff works with weekly themes and daily activity plans which include a wide variety of art projects, storytime, music and movement, hands-on discovery, and of course, outdoor play. Moreover, we tailor activities to the developmental abilities of each child. Parents also appreciate our home-like environment because it leads to healthier children. We specialize in caring for children from 6 months to school age. Our setting is an easily-accessible, comfortable family home with dedicated space for the children, and a large back yard for supervised outdoor play. Just Like Home Family Child Care emerged over 20 years ago from the talent and passion of Sandy Vitez, then a stay-at-home mom. Hosting playmates for her toddler quickly turned into a career. Since then, Sandy has earned her Associate's degree and has taken over 200 additional classes and workshops on early childhood development.
