Just like Home Childcare, Inc. (License #F11MD1201) provides personalized childcare services in a home fully dedicated to children. Most childcare facilities have high capacity, all-purpose rooms in which kids eat, sleep and play in the same room and are divided by age. Just Like Home is interested in truly replicating the home environment by providing low teacher/child ratios, flexibility of care with availability during the day, night, weekend and odd hours, the benefits of mixed age group, varying activity rooms and most of all truly individualized loving care. Family childcare provides for children the comfort and experience of belonging to an extended family. Our primary goal is to support each child in a safe and loving home that builds self-esteem, encourages independence and life skills, and actively promotes each child's sense of curiosity, discovery, and innate love for learning. While in our care, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities, which promote all aspects of childhood development. Children are natural learners. In the first five years of a child s life they grow and learn at the fastest rate of their lifetime. Research shows that children learn through doing and playing, which is why we provide both flexible teacher-initiated activities (e.g., story time, art and music) mixed with child-lead activities that all promote learning and exploration of what they love. Our whole home is geared toward the child, where the children are offered choices whenever possible. We have an indoor playroom with learning activities like manipulative, blocks, arts and crafts, reading, imaginative play, and so much more in order to promote fine and gross motor skills. In addition, we have two separate sleeping rooms that provide a quiet space for your child to sleep in a bed of their own. Just like Home also has a beautiful covered outdoor play area and outside learning exploration area.

Katie Burdette, owner and lead teacher, has had a passion for caring for children most of her life and has been a nanny for over 11 years specializing in twins and families with many children. Katie has a background in Early Childhood Education and Child Development from Florida State University and is looking to use her background and experience to bridge the gap between having a nanny and the daycare facility experience by offering the best of both worlds!
