Jenny's Sac Daycare

I am a home based child care taking kids from 6 weeks to 10 years. I've been previously licensed in Sacramento for 15 years, and have also done a year in a preschool. I will be taking children 6 weeks to 10 years, will be open Monday through Friday from 8a-6p.

I have been part of a flagship program where I worked directly with Sacramento County Office of Education and First 5 California in a Preschool Bridging Model where we brought preschool to the in-home care setting, hoping to ease the transition to kindergarten. I was one of the first 5 locations chosen for this project. And it was great. I can't wait to introduce your children to all the wonderful training and knowledge I received from participating in this great program.

I believe in play based learning, and age appropriate learning, and have a strict no screen time policy, I as a parent have used screen time as a babysitter, and know that with so many other things to do in a daycare setting, it s never needed. Music on the other hand is played nonstop. I'm a firm believer in vitamin D and we go outside rain or shine, even if it's just to find the biggest puddles we can to jump in.

I have a yearly favorite toy program that all children are to bring in a brand new favorite toy of theirs to have at the daycare to share with the other children, this gives the children openings for "table talk" and also helps them with idea of sharing something important to them.

We also do "who I am" weekly projects, where everyone brings a picture and tell us something new about them. (Photo or drawn) This is completely child driven. It's the activity that's important, public speaking is still one of the major fears out there and starting in Kindergarten isn't soon enough. I like to start even when they can only nod and may noises.

We do a lot of art, even our babies on solid foods. Baby food to me is the best first paints they can experience. Not all "art" can make it home, but that is the reason we have smartphones.

IÂ m a green daycare, I make all my own cleaning products, soaps, and use only environmentally safe free & clear laundry soap and dishwasher soaps. I do not use bleach anywhere in my home.
