About

I am offering childcare services for a family with infants/young children in their home, or mine, according to their preference.

One of the greatest joys of my life is being around and caring for young children and babies. Indeed, the best years of my life were those when I was raising my own children, during which time I participated for five years in the Starr King Parent Child Workshop, where one of the greatest highlights of every week was my time spent at the school working with all the kids.

During this time also, I concurrently provided care for an infant in my home from the age of 3 to17 months, and to many other young children of families I met at Starr King while their parents were at work. I loved it and the kids did too.

I have lived in Santa Barbara for almost 40 years. While raising my family here and in the years since, I have also worked in the fields of law and mediation.

From my own experience as a mother working outside the home and witnessing others with young children, I understand the crucial need to have confidence that your children are happy, well cared for and thriving during the hours you are at work.

I chose to work in mediation because it is emphasizes communication, compassion, empathy, and caring for others, skills that are crucial to connecting with people of any age, from infancy to adulthood. While this work has been deeply satisfying and rewarding for me, simply put - I miss working with and being around, young children. Therefore, I have decided to re-shift my focus back to this.

I believe I have a gift for connecting with babies and children, engaging them, caring for them, and making them feel comforted and at ease.

I am happy to provide references from the many people I have known and worked with over the years which attest to the same.

I am excited about the prospect of working with a family to help their child/children to happily thrive and grow while the entire family enjoys a sense of comfort, safety and support.
