About

Working with young children is my passion. Toddlers are my favorite age group because between 12 months until 3 years, they develop so much and go through so many different milestones, watching toddlers grow is so much fun and I enjoy being able to help them through everyday learning experiences! My husband and I have a 2-year-old daughter (Born January 2012), and I absolutely love dedicating all of my time to her and helping her learn new things, each day. Here is my background of working with children:
March 2009-March 2010 Was my first job at a licensed childcare center in my hometown, Lansing. I was an infant caregiver and loved working with the babies. I left that job to move to Grand Rapids.
April 2010-January 2012, I was an Assistant Toddler Teacher at a licensed childcare center.
January 2012-September 2012, I was a stay at home mom to my newborn baby girl. I would have to say out of all of my experience, being a mother has been the best one to help me really understand young children.
September 2012-January 2014, I was a Lead Toddler Teacher for young 1-year-old children, helping them learn through everyday experiences.
Starting in October 2013, I became I part time nanny for most afternoons every week.
Currently, I am a stay at home mom and I a, a nanny in the afternoon. I am CPR and First Aid certified by the American Red Cross and have had many trainings with child development topics, from my previous jobs. I'm only a few credits short of obtaining my Associates degree in Child Development. My long term goal is to one day own my own daycare, with a lower adult to children ratios to ensure that all children are getting the attention they need. But until that happens, I'm a nanny!
Working at childcare centers, I prefer being a nanny, because the children are in a homely environment, are getting the attention that they need and will be able to get social interactions with another child (my daughter).
I am committed to a family in the afternoons, but am currently looking to care for your child(ren) in the mornings (whenever needed - 12:30 p.m. ). I'm looking for a long term family and hoping that my home will be like a second home to your child(ren). I currently do not have transportation and care would be provided in my home, until my car is fixed. I hope that I can find a long term family to care for in the mornings! Please message me with any questions you may have, I assure you that your child will be in a safe and loving environment.
