Hello! My name is Sheila. I have 21 years of childcare experience with my own children as well as experience as a home school mother of 5. I have worked in a daycare environment with children in the toddler room at a Kindercare facility for 2 years. I am CPR and First aid certified through the American Heart Association as well having been EMT trained. I'm also an excellent cook and housekeeper. My background is in the medical field as well as in animal care. I have had training in various areas of the healthcare system and feel that this training is beneficial in the care of young children as I can handle any emergency should it arise. I am able to triage and know when something is not right. Currently, I am working on my bachelor's degree in Psychology online through Liberty University Christian college. I have completed child psychology and developmental psychology courses through the university with A's. I plan on utilizing this degree to specialize in helping abused children in the future.
I believe in education and would implement age appropriate education in all daily interactions with your child as well as the learn through play approach. Each day will be based on structure but also will allow for flexibility as each child is different and it's impossible in my opinion to force a child into a mold. My philosophy is that God created us in his image, but he also created us each with a special purpose. We are not meant to be all exactly the same, and as such, each perfect child needs a caregiver who will allow the child to develop according to God's plan.
