Homeschool Preschool Kindergarten

Experienced Homeschool Teacher K-12 (starting my 23rd year) and Church Nursery Teacher. I have taught all 6 of my children- 5 have graduated from high school so far. I have openings for two children, preschool to early elementary to be taught in my home.

I enjoy crafts, playing games and reading to children. I feel that early reading and math skills are vital to later success in school and life. I use Christian materials for instructing in phonics and language skills. I have experience with several Math curriculum providers and will work with you if you have a specific one in mind.

My rates are $75 per week full time and part time can be discussed. Curriculum will be an additional cost, which will be discussed in advance. Most curriculum choices for preschool and kindergarten are very inexpensive and can be purchased as needed. I use the public library materials whenever possible, to conserve funds. If your child is in 1st or 2nd grade, additional curriculum is available, but may cost a bit more. Most books can be found at the library. I have a teacher collection card which enable me to request books in advance and keep them for longer periods of time.

Lunch and snacks are provided. Breakfast can be available for a small price. If you have special dietary needs or preferences, we can work those out in advance.

I don't use the television for a babysitter, although we might use learning video or have a movie day once in a while. We will read every day and work on math skills. When your child is ready, we will begin handwriting skills. I prefer the italic handwriting method, but if you have a different choice, we can use that. I love making crafts, so clear some space on your refrigerator!

I have a 14 year old son who will be in 9th grade this year. He is very self sufficient, so I have time to focus on the younger ones. We live in a secure apartment building, in a nice neighborhood, so we can take walks in good weather.

I like structure, but understand that some days require flexibility to take advantage of teachable moments and days when it just doesn't click :) If you are interested in having your child(ren) homeschooled, and are just not able to do so at the moment, I would welcome the opportunity to assist you.
