I currently care for seniors in Naples, FL. Extensive experience caring for my elderly father until his passing. He was at home for the 1st couple of years and then in a senior home care facility. I cared for his needs including walking, feeding, reading, bathroom needs, bathing, gently exercising, games to promote brain activity and improvement, puzzles, going out for rides and his favorite activity of going for ice cream. I would not have traded the experience for anything. There were often people in the facilitythat we saw daily that were by themselves almost all of the time and it was heartbreaking. My Dad and I would try to visit or speak to those people as often as possible. I became very aware of the fact that the elderly can be so lonely and still have the desire to socialize outside of the family even if it is just a short visit, a car ride or a game of cards. I offer a variety of expertise including transportation (excellent driving record), shopping (yes I do love to shop), odd jobs (pretty handy), pets (animal lover for life)---I have brought dogs to facilities many times, cleaning (touch up to white glove standard) and many other skills. I am very excited to have obtained my Certification in Restorative Yoga for Seniors and Mobility challenged individuals. Improvement in mobility and decrease in pain with gentle customized movement and stretching. The certification requires 200 hours of training at a registered and licensed Yoga Alliance school. I am also insured. I look forward to working with you and your senior. I currently teach to the elderly population and just love it.
