My experience with children is vast. I owned and operated a large daycare & preschool in Arizona for 15 years. Prior to that I had an in-home daycare, due to the demand for my services I expanded to a center. I am well versed in infant/toddler environmental rating scales. My approach to childcare is to assume the responsibility of the care, welfare and development of the children as a co-parent, and to provide an environment that combines all of the essential ingredients for healthy child development: love, positive discipline, varying activities which balance learning, play and rest, good nourishment and safety. My experience also includes providing parenting classes for court ordered parents to assist these parents in becoming functional parents. I have worked closely with CPS and I was a foster parent for many years working with the Colorado River Indian tribes. I believe a commitment to young children is an investment in our community. 90% of a child's brain is developed by age 5, and I realize that, as a childcare provider, I play an important part in the impact of a child's IQ. One provider from birth through 5 years is, in my opinion the best option for a child.
