Harbor Day Preschool

As the format of Harbor Day Preschool is developmental, so is our Christian education program, which teaches universal Christian concepts through a hands-on experience.

We feel that children learn by making choices and seeing the results of their actions. The most meaningful curriculum will be one that actually emerges from the child s interest. We emphasize verbal interaction between the children and the staff and well as parents and staff.

We believe in providing a loving, caring, enriching place for children. We are a developmental center striving to guide your child s growth by presenting a curriculum of age appropriate experiences. Our program is designed to tap the creative and intellectual potential of your child. We aim to provide the right balance of energetic and quiet activities during the course of your child s day. Primarily, we are concerned with providing your child experiences in group socialization within the context of nurturing self-esteem and individual growth.

Harbor Day Preschool seeks to provide a developmentally appropriate atmosphere of Christian nurture, where all children are affirmed as precious and gifted children of a loving God, see themselves as valued and worthwhile and given emotional and spiritual tools for their journey as children of God.

We also believe that each child has the capacity to learn and to succeed in school. The philosophy of the program encompasses the goal of meeting the needs of the whole child physical, emotional, spiritual, creative, social and cognitive in a loving nurturing environment.

At Harbor Day Preschool we know that preschool is the best foundation you can give a child in their early years. We strive to foster in children a sense of independence, self-awareness and confidence. Children not only play but are learning while playing.

Our curriculum at Harbor Day Preschool includes Zoophonics, Creative Curriculum, basic concepts, bible lessons, math, literacy, science, and art, all of which contribute to the whole child.
