Happy Forest Playschool

So glad you are checking out our little local "playschool"! This in-home daycare is run by a developmental specialist and teacher with a masters in infant/toddler and early childhood development and over 10 years experience as a teacher and developmental consultant.

A major focus is on creating a warm, rhythmic, family-like feeling to the day and among the group of children as well as on meeting the needs of each individual - whatever they may be! We strive to offer each child unconditional acceptance and love within the home while fostering healthy development, a love of learning, and social skills. Healthy meals (as organic as possible) and snacks are offered throughout the day and we can accomodate a wide variety of nutrition needs and preferences (gluten free, vegan, etc.)

The program is research-based and inspired by principles of Montessori, Waldorf, forest schools, respectful/peaceful parenting, and RIE (Responsive Infant Educaring).

Social/emotional intelligence and mindfulness are part of the program as is plenty of play and exploration outdoors. Independence and a sense of autonomy is fostered through the program as children participate in all care needs in whatever way they can. Learning is hands-on and individualized. Songs, stories, art, and movement are an important part of the day as is creating a calming, rhythmic flow through repetition and verse. Come check us out!
