H.U.G. Help "U" Grow Child Care is based in a home setting where learning begins with playtime and ends with the knowledge to Help "U" Grow. We are devoted to creating a fun learning atmosphere where children are supported by positive caregivers who guide them in reaching there developmental milestones. As we build the best child care experience for your children we will support and collaborate with the child care community to ensure the best care. Our foundation stands on daring young minds to dream the impossible.
H.U.G. Child Care where we encourage positive growth and play in a calm home setting. Our motto is to "Help "U" Grow", which means providing your child (ren) with the basic building blocks and necessities to become strong minded individuals through a healthy, safe, and loving home-like environment where they can learn and nature on a daily basis. The information in this handbook is well thought out and comes from many years of experience. These policies are in place to ensure a peaceful environment for all parents, all children, and providers.
H.U.G. Child Care has two primary care providers Angela Spruill and Dawn Sockwell who has been working in this field for over 10 years. Both providers have had numerous years of working hand in hand with the Department of Children and Families of Connecticut and are familiar with the child care regulations for the state of Connecticut. We are licensed by the Department of Public Health in the state of Connecticut also registered with the 211 info line and Tots 411.
Each provider has certificates in numerous child care trainings such as Trauma, The Ansell Casey Life Skills Assessment ACT model of Family and Children's Aid, The American Heart Association Connecticut child care infant/adult First Aid CPR/AED. In addition, H.U.G. Child Care providers have experience working with children from birth to 18 years of age in many different settings, such as student teaching, mentoring, supervising, counseling and most recently Respite and Safe Home Care provider's. Many of the children provided for have had special needs such as; autism, codependency, oppositional defiance behavior, infants, newborns and toddlers born with substance abuse and or other abnormalities; missing limbs, blind, deaf, unable to walk, etc. Through years of experience, patience, hard work and creativity we as providers are well rounded and confident in our skills in working with children of all types and welcome each child.
