Hi, I'm Sten, so nice to meet you! I recently graduated with a B.S. in Kinesiology at Westmont College, where I played in the College Orchestra as a Flamenco Guitarist.
I have been playing Flamenco guitar for 10 years, and throughout undergrad, I've been classically trained in guitar proficiency. Now I am looking for an opportunity to share what I've learned with the Santa Barbara community by teaching guitar lessons.

Though I was given money to play guitar for the Westmont Orchestra, I was never classically trained-and I could not read even a single line of music. For the first year, I struggled with imposter syndrome, listening to the repertoire over and over so that I could learn the music by ear. Mercifully, I was given the chance to work with the percussion section, where I took advantage of my peer's experience to learn music theory piece by piece. After four years of persistent practice, I not only learned how to read sheet music, but I was also nominated for Orchestral presidency twice, elected as percussion section leader, and formally recognized for my optimism and musical growth.
