Glen Park Montessori Preschool

Glen Park Montessori is a premier preschool offering the Montessori curriculum of early math and language arts concepts, censorial development, practical life skills, botany, anthropology, geography, and peace studies. Our comprehensive art program covers a broad range of media and frequently encourages expression that overlaps our academic curriculum. We also offer lively lessons in Spanish and music as a regular part of our program. Our school welcomes and desires diversity in our environment.

Our physical location includes two floors of open, spacious, sun-filled work and play areas; plants and animals to care for and study; and access to our garden play yard.

Glen Park Montessori Preschool invites children to become acquainted with our natural world through an arrange of planned activities, Anthropology Days, and Family Meet-Up Days designed to foster a love of and appreciation for nature and an understanding of the interconnectedness of all life.

Rosemary R., founder, Director of Glen Park Montessori Preschool, opened the school 22 years ago as a small school of 12 students. Since that time, the school has continued to thrive and grow into the 36-student, two-classroom school it is today.

In the year 2000, Glen Park Montessori Preschool moved to its current location on Chenery Street, in San Francisco. The school's new, two-story structure was built to specification as a daycare center, and as such, our classrooms conform to the latest requirements for structure and safety and feature wonderful amenities like kid-sized toilets and sinks.

Behind the school, our play yard includes a deck, a lovely garden, and the ball yard for gross motor activity (a.k.a. running, climbing, and playing), in the company of a hundred-year-old redwood tree. We are located two blocks from a city mini-park, The Meadow, and just six blocks from Glen Canyon Park, a restored natural habitat with abundant wildlife.
