Germain's Daycare

Germain's daycare is a state licensed home daycare business, owned and operated by Germain Edgerton. Germain has 30+ years working in early childhood care and preschool. She has received specialized training to care for and meet the nutritional needs of young children with type 1 Diabetes.

The children range in age from infants to grade school children. We take pride in helping children from all backgrounds in their successful transition from first learning to crawl to being fully prepared to enter grade school.

Preschool -

We offer structured preschool activities through the Early Beginnings Preschool Program. This program includes hands-on learning activities, arts and crafts. We also incorporate our own worksheets that challenge the kids to learn their basic letters, numbers, colors and basic math and reading.
We work one on one with children to help them succeed. The preschool curriculum is specifically designed to prepare the children for Kindergarten.

Art Class -
Art class is taught once a week. Art projects include seasonal crafts that let the children express their creativity through different projects.
Not only does art help to develop the right side of the brain, but it also cultivates important skills that benefit a child's development. We believe that creating art expands a child's ability to interact with the world around them, and provides a new set of skills for self-expression and communication.

Music -
The Music Seed is a business run by Ms.Kathleen, who is a music therapist. She comes to our home once a week and focuses on teaching children basic music concepts, including moving songs involving gross motor, musical stories, finger plays, scarves and puppets. She has been part of our daycare experience from the beginning.

Ms. Kathleen provides a fabulous music time - it is always engaging, age-appropriate, educational, and so FUN! She introduces the children to different instruments, sings new and fresh songs to hold their attention.

Library Bus -

KCLS Library2Go system is a bus that comes to our daycare once a month and allows the children to pick and checkout their own books to read at daycare.
