About the business
I am a retired Reading Specialist with 35 years of teaching experience in grades PreK-12. I was the 1995 Wisconsin Teacher of the Year for Special Services and have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Reading. I love working with kids, especially those that struggle with reading and writing. I have done extensive research on the best teaching techniques for struggling readers and writers and am always learning myself. Reading assessment and planning appropriate programs are at the core of my program. Building the love of reading and writing, instilling self confidence, and creating an atmosphere of fun are hallmarks of my instruction. l look forward to meeting new clients and building a learning relationship.
