Fun Arts Afterschool workshop students will develop social skills and to learn teamwork, through sharing ideas and through the participation of group activities. Students will also discover ways for better self-expression and use creative functions that foster brain development. During the mentorship discussions, students will gain insight which will motivate them to increase or maintain in school attendance. The script writing process and hands-on filming process are expected to give more meaning to the academic learning experience; thus, causing students to gain an increased desire to learn subjects including: literacy, history, social studies, math, and science.
Students that participate in the Fun Arts Afterschool workshop will be apart of the pilot for the upcoming teen television show in Charlotte, NC.
