Freyja Combs

Someone once told me that helping others is more rewarding than helping yourself. Simply trying to be there for my 92 year old grandfather or changing my baby nieces diaper made me feel like I was doing something worthwhile with my life. Nobody forgets that first grade teacher that made them feel like they were their own child. I have learned from experience how valuable it is to have someone who truly cares for you, especially when your a kid. I enjoy listening to a child's day and seeing their face light up playing a silly game I made up.

Hi, my name is Freyja Combs. I'm looking forward to an opportunity to use my child-care skills with any family that is willing to meet me. I would charge 11$ an hour however, this can be changed if the family is more comfortable with something else. I'm attending Northwest for my AA and aspiring to be an art historian and have my own gallery. I've been volunteering at the Little Book Store and love getting to know the costumers and helping organize. I'm apart of a Christian family and aspire to have those same morals and goals.

Experience

-4H CIT counselor for 11-12 year olds
-5 weeks full-time for 6 year old (Periodically before she was 5)
-Babysat for a church day-care, watching 5-8 kids a night, including ages 2-13 year old's
-2 other families, ages 3-9 year old's

SKILLS

-Art projects
-Cleaning (any household chores)
-Bathing/diaper changes
-Cooking/baking any meals
-Reading aloud
-Interactive games(hide and go seek, pretend makeup, etc...)
-Piano tutor on intermediate or beginner level, English/grammar help
-Going to the park or playground
-Communicates with guardians during emergency or just to check-in
-Calm in high-pressure situations
-I would bring games, movies, and other things once I get to know the child better

-Less than an hour away from Defuniak Springs
-Babies(1-3) or newborns especially
-1 to 3 kids at once
-To meet family before starting
