About
I own a group daycare home in Rockford, Michigan. I offer a daily curriculum for ages birth to age 5. My home is located on 5 wooded acreas, we play outside a lot in the summer and have daily outdoor time throughout the year. I have worked hard to develop an inviting, warm program where children can experience life 'hands on'. I believe that children learn through play, and the curriculum and environment reflects this. I staff three people per day, and each day about half the children are 2 years old or less and half are preschoolers. I have a bachelor's degree in forestry, and believe that children need to have natural outdoor experiences daily. I was also an owner of an art gallery, specializing in children's portraits, and promote art experiences with the children daily. I believe that children need to get messy to truly experience life and that they should be in an environment where they can take safe risks, both physically and cognitively. I have a CDA (Child Development Accreditation) and am currently going back to school for a degree in Early Child Development.
