Fox & Fern Family Child Care

I decided to become a child care provider after running a successful business for the past 7.5 years, as a licensee for a creative, nightlife company. Once becoming a mother in 2018, I felt myself torn between my life as a mother and a work at home boss. With 30 employees in two states and no time for anything but my job, it was time to dig down for my roots. As my business had grown, so had my disconnect from the human experience and the interactions I found so much joy in. I found myself behind a keyboard more often than with my customers, my family and namely, my daughter. Thus was born Fox and Fern: Family Child Care. A place where nature, nurture and creativity meet. I am currently fulfilling my degree in Early Childhood Education to be completed in fall 2020. I seek to provide the best care possible to the families that I will meet through family child care. I am devoted to continual education and seeking self-improvement. My love of nature and art has driven me to create an indoor and outdoor family space that is both warm and stimulating to the children that will spend their time here. I will offer a safe and nurturing environment that acts as a home away from home. I understand firsthand, that leaving your child in the care of another can be an overwhelming and emotional experience. I hope to help aid in making this transition and relationship as gentle and reciprocal as possible, with the knowledge that your little ones are being truly loved and cared for, in an environment that supports their growth and development. I believe in teaching children to identify their emotions and the emotions of others, to help them navigate and enhance their positive behaviors and master their antisocial behaviors. I believe that kindness and empathy are the most important skills a child can learn. With the support of a healthy, nature- based environment, where structured and unstructured exploration are a pathway to learning, I believe that the children in my program will thrive. I seek to help your children connect with the environment around them, one another and you. They will learn and develop through self expression, creativity, play and exploration, as well as learn to identify and respect boundaries and limitations. I believe I have the knowledge, disposition and compassion to help your child and your family to truly thrive.
